National University of Singapore (NUS) chairman Hsieh Fu Hua will step down from the position as part of a planned leadership transition. The university appoints former civil service chief Leo Yip to take over the role.
The change is scheduled around the March 31–April 1 cutoff. Channel NewsAsia reports that Yip will assume the role on April 1, following Hsieh’s departure. The Straits Times specifies that Hsieh steps down on March 31 and that Yip takes over from April 1.
Across the reports, the announced succession plan and the key dates are aligned. Both outlets frame the transition as a handover from the outgoing chairman to the newly appointed chairman, with Yip drawing from his previous experience leading the civil service.
