AMNI and TotalEnergies reach a Final Investment Decision (FID) for the Ima Gas Development Project, moving the 53-year-old Ima gas field toward development. Vanguard reports the deal is worth about $600 million and aims to deliver around 350 million standard cubic feet of gas per day. Vanguard also says the project targets first gas by the end of 2028.
Premium Times provides different financial and infrastructure context, reporting a $1.108 billion figure for the project. It adds that gas from the development is expected to supply about 30% of the feed gas requirements for Nigeria LNG’s Train 7, linking the field’s output to the expansion of Nigeria’s LNG production capacity. Across the outlets, the common focus is that the FID approval enables development and establishes gas supply expectations for Nigeria LNG’s Train 7, while figures for total project cost differ between reports.
