A passenger who booked an air-conditioned bus journey from Hyderabad to Rajahmundry is taken in a non-AC vehicle and dropped about 9–10 km short of his destination at around midnight, according to reports. The passenger says he did not receive adequate help or onward transport after being left off early.
After the passenger lodged a complaint, the consumer commission rules that the bus operator is responsible for a deficiency in service. The order cites the mismatch between the ticketed AC service and the non-AC ride, along with the lack of proper arrangements following the early drop-off. The commission directs the company to pay Rs 31,500 in compensation, described as covering mental harassment and litigation costs. The accounts describe the incident as involving both the incorrect accommodation of the service promised and the inconvenience caused to the passenger late at night.
