Microsoft introduces “Mythic Achievements,” a new milestone system for Xbox games, and makes an initial version available to Xbox Insiders. The feature is designed to recognize players when they fully complete the achievement sets for eligible titles.

Multiple outlets describe Mythic Achievements as functioning much like PlayStation’s Platinum trophies: they unlock once a player earns all of the game’s original achievements. Microsoft also applies the system retroactively, so players who have already completed achievements in past games may receive Mythic Achievements automatically and see notifications about them.

Sources also highlight how the feature communicates progress. GameSpot reports that when the system is available, player profiles gain a Gaming tab for viewing Mythic information, and achievement lists show a progress bar indicating how close a player is to Mythic status. Engadget and The Verge focus more on the comparison to Platinum trophies, while the official Xbox Wire post emphasizes it as one of the most requested features from players. Microsoft has not announced a specific date for a full rollout beyond the Xbox Insiders program.
