BTS is set to begin its first-ever concerts in Peru on Wednesday (local time), performing at Estadio San Marcos in Lima as part of its “Arirang” world tour. The group’s shows are scheduled for Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, marking its first performances in the South American country since its 2013 debut.
Ahead of the concerts, Lima and nearby districts hold several promotional and tribute events. The Santiago de Surco district temporarily renames Sacramento Street to “BTS Avenue” from Oct. 5 to 11 and installs route signage. Landmarks are lit in BTS’s signature purple, including Arco Morisco in the Friendship Park area, which also hosts daily light shows through Sunday. Lima’s Fountain Park stages a BTS-themed fountain and light show with music, lights, and water screens during the same period.
Yonhap and the Korea Times both frame the trip as a first for Peru, while the Korea Times provides additional detail on Lima’s “BTS Avenue” festivities and the schedule of recent South American tour dates, including earlier shows in Colombia.
