The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has deployed two ambulifts at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos to help passengers with reduced mobility. The equipment is intended to support safer, more dignified boarding and disembarking for travellers who need assistance.
FAAN says the ambulifts are part of wider efforts to improve accessibility and passenger facilitation at Nigeria’s busiest airport. Outlets report that the ambulifts will be used to reduce delays during boarding and improve operational efficiency, while also aligning airport services with international standards. One report notes that the ambulifts were officially handed over to NACHO Aviation Services, reflecting the implementation of the accessibility initiative through airport service providers.
