Microsoft is changing OneDrive storage entitlements for shared Microsoft 365 plans, reducing the amount of cloud storage subscribers receive. Android Authority and ZDNet both report that a large portion of the previously included storage benefit is being reduced.
Across reports, Microsoft 365 Family and Premium are moving away from individual 1TB allocations per member toward a smaller shared pool. Times of India specifies that the 1TB per member model will be replaced with a single 2TB pool shared by up to six people, lowering the maximum shared total from 6TB to 2TB. For the Pro plan, Times of India reports a 5TB shared pool.
Times of India also provides timing details: existing subscribers transition after their first renewal on or after May 2, 2027. It further notes that Copilot and AI benefits, which were previously associated with specific tiers or entitlements, are expected to extend to every plan member soon. Other outlets focus mainly on the storage reduction and shared nature of the updated caps.
