Former DUP leader Jeffrey Donaldson is due to be sentenced next week after being convicted of child sex abuse offences earlier this year. Highland Radio reports he will be brought before Newry Crown Court on Thursday next week for sentencing.

Multiple outlets also report that the case involves a large number of offences. The Irish Mirror says he is facing justice for 18 sex offences, including one count of rape, while the Irish Independent and Belfast Telegraph note that the court has previously heard he could be jailed for up to 12 years. All reports refer to Donaldson seeking to appeal the conviction, with sentencing proceeding while the appeal is pursued.
