Police in Anambra have arrested 27-year-old ex-convict Chidera Anthony Eleh, also known as “Timaya,” over alleged robberies targeting Point of Sale (POS) operators in Awka. Outlets report the case follows an incident at or around Aroma Junction, where armed robbers are said to have attacked POS operators and taken cash.

Reports say a video circulated online shows suspected armed robbers carrying out the assault, including use of motorcycles. Premium Times and other outlets link the arrest to the appearance of the CCTV footage online, while Daily Post Nigeria and The Punch describe the suspect’s age and name as part of the police statement. The accounts largely align on the location in Awka and the allegation that the robbery involved motorcycle-assisted attackers targeting POS operators.
