President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. says former Taguig City Mayor Lino Cayetano will replace Dave Gomez as head of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO). The change is expected to be formalized once Cayetano returns to the Philippines, with an interim official to lead the office in the meantime.

Marcos confirms the leadership transition during an interview while in Singapore, describing that Gomez’s appointment was affected by the Commission on Appointments (CA) process. Outlets report that Marcos says an “ad interim” replacement will take over immediately after Gomez’s term ends or if his appointment is not acted on.

The reports align on the identity of the incoming and outgoing officials and the general timing mechanism for the handover. They differ mainly in how they frame the interim arrangements and the reason Marcos gives for the shift in personnel.
