E-commerce firms in India sell goods worth an estimated ₹24,000 crore in the first two days of the festive season sale, according to consultancy firm Redseer Strategy Consultants. The report says the results are driven mainly by growth in order volumes, with about 8–9 crore orders placed across platforms including Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho and Ajio.
Mobile phones contribute the largest share of sales value, at an estimated 38–40% (about ₹9,100–9,600 crore). However, Redseer says shoppers also spread spending into fashion, electronics and appliances, with fashion GMV growing 22–25% year-on-year in the opening days. The firm estimates consumer electronics account for about 25–27% of total sales, while fashion makes up roughly 15–18%.
Redseer also estimates around 60–65 million shoppers participate in the first two days and that 6–6.5 crore shoppers buy during the period. It adds that fast-growing quick commerce arms help lift visibility, and that sales of large appliances and electronics are increasing faster than the overall market, even as phones remain the top category by value.
