Nigeria’s anti-narcotics agency, NDLEA, says it has rearrested an 83-year-old woman, Uloma Uchechi Sunday, for allegedly possessing illegal drugs. Multiple outlets report she was taken into custody in Abia State at or near her home in Ite-Uzo, Umuaguma, Obingwa Local Government Area, and that the arrest comes months to about a year after she was convicted of a similar offence.

Reports say NDLEA officers found methamphetamine and a synthetic cannabinoid known as “Colorado,” allegedly concealed around her waist using a wrapper. One outlet specifies the concealment method, while another emphasises the timing since her earlier conviction.

In the same broader NDLEA update, Daily Post Nigeria also reports the agency arrested a South African woman at Port Harcourt International Airport, Rivers State, over an alleged drug seizure involving 32.74kg of cannabis. The other articles in the set focus mainly on the rearrest of the 83-year-old.
