England appoints Eric Simons as its Test bowling coach and adds James Foster to the senior men’s red-ball coaching staff under newly appointed head coach Stephen Fleming, the ECB says.
Several outlets report that Simons is returning to a Fleming-led environment, with Yahoo Sports and BBC Sport both framing the move as a reunification ahead of England’s upcoming South Africa series. The ECB announcement also includes Foster, an ex-England wicketkeeper, joining the red-ball backroom team alongside Simons. While the outlets focus primarily on Simons’s role and timing around the South Africa tour, all accounts agree the appointments expand Fleming’s staff for England’s Test and broader red-ball coaching structure.
