Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan declines a fan’s request for a handshake during his 84th birthday celebrations at his Mumbai residence, an incident that is widely shared in a viral video. Reports say the woman tried to approach beyond the security perimeter during the actor’s usual practice of greeting fans outside his home.
In the footage described by outlets, Bachchan avoids the interaction and appears to gesture to security personnel to intervene as the fan seeks closer contact. After the moment, he continues greeting other attendees and proceeds back inside, while social media users react to what they saw.
Outlets describe the public response as divided: some commentators say the actor could have accommodated the request, while others emphasize that security protocols and personal boundaries for celebrities must be respected. The incident is discussed alongside his birthday observances and continued engagement with fans.
