The Los Angeles Dodgers have left infielder Kim Hye-seong off their 26-man roster for the National League Championship Series (NLCS), leaving no South Korean players remaining in the ongoing MLB postseason. Kim appeared in one game during the National League Division Series (NLDS) against the Atlanta Braves as a defensive replacement, but is not included for the NLCS.

The Dodgers are carrying 13 pitchers for the NLCS, one more than their pitching-heavy roster for the NLDS. Left-hander Justin Wrobleski is added to the NLCS roster. After the Dodgers’ NLCS opener ended in a 2-1 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers on the road at American Family Field, Kim’s removal marks an end to South Korea’s representation in the postseason this year. Kim previously was on the Dodgers’ roster last fall during their run to a second straight World Series title, but his playing time this season was reduced, with much of the second half spent in the minors before a late-September recall.
