The Mumbai–Ahmedabad high-speed rail project says it has completed construction of all 14 portal beams over the Delhi–Mumbai Rajdhani main railway line in Vadodara, clearing a major step in the elevated viaduct work through a densely used railway corridor. The portal beams support the next phase of building the elevated track section where the alignment crosses multiple operational Indian Railways routes.

Outlets report that the Vadodara stretch is about 8.3 km long and involves complex geometry and clearances, including crossings over the Rajdhani main line and several other railway lines. The beams are positioned along two portions of the alignment: between Vadodara Bullet Train station and Vishwamitri railway station toward Surat, and between Vadodara railway station and Chhayapuri railway station toward Ahmedabad. With the portal beams finished, the project moves toward launching roughly 40-metre composite girders over the Rajdhani main line, while other locations use span-by-span construction methods integrated with ongoing rail operations.
