Police in Seoul seek to arrest a man in his 20s accused of stabbing his mother-in-law to death and kidnapping his wife, in connection with a marriage annulment dispute. Police say the suspect went on the run early Sunday after allegedly killing the woman at a house in Seoul’s Songpa district and taking his wife with him.

According to police accounts reported by outlets, the authorities file warrant requests after arresting the suspect and involve charges including parricide. One report says the suspect had previously been investigated in August for repeatedly using violence against his wife. The suspect reportedly admits the killing but denies that it was premeditated, saying he was trying to persuade his wife, as the couple pursue an annulment.
