DeepSeek is reported to be set to lead the first seed funding round for Winverse AI, a Chinese robotics artificial intelligence startup. Bloomberg reports the round is expected to be worth tens of millions of dollars and that it could value the company at roughly $400 million after the investment. The Next Web and other outlets citing Bloomberg describe the startup as a “stealth” company building AI designed for robots.

According to Quartz, DeepSeek’s involvement is linked to a broader push into “embodied intelligence,” and it reports that the Hangzhou-based AI lab would back Winverse AI. Quartz also says Winverse AI was founded by a former Tencent scientist. Bloomberg adds that Meituan’s investment arm, Long-Z, has also committed to the round. The reporting frames DeepSeek as using capital from its own recent funding to support what industry participants see as a fast-growing robotics and AI segment.
