German police in Cologne are investigating two teenagers—a 16-year-old and a 19-year-old—after an alleged incident in which a humanoid robot touched a 16-year-old girl and the act was reportedly livestreamed on social media.
Police say the victim was with friends in the western city late Saturday when the 1.2-metre red-and-gold robot approached her. Officials allege the robot touched her buttocks and made thrusting motions. A video circulating online shows two men with the robot pressing up against the teenager as she screams and moves away.
Officials report the 16-year-old is suspected to own the robot. They say the pair allegedly filmed the event, streamed it live on social media and made comments. Police were alerted, found the robot in a car boot, and seized the device and two phones belonging to the suspects. Authorities are now conducting an investigation to determine what happened and the roles each person played.
