The Centre appoints new governors for Kerala and Tamil Nadu, with additional changes reported for several other states. A Rashtrapati Bhavan communique says Om Prakash Mathur, currently Governor of Sikkim, is appointed as Governor of Kerala, replacing Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar.
Arlekar, who had been serving as Governor of Kerala and had been given additional charge of Tamil Nadu in March, is appointed as Governor of Tamil Nadu. Other outlets also report new governor appointments for Odisha, Karnataka, Uttarakhand and Sikkim, indicating a coordinated set of postings across six states.
The coverage across outlets largely aligns on the key transfers—Mathur moving from Sikkim to Kerala and Arlekar moving from Kerala to Tamil Nadu—while differing mainly in how many states are listed and in which order they appear.
