Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa approves ₦500 million to expand housing and motor vehicle loan schemes for public servants. The funding is described by multiple outlets as an additional seed amount aimed at improving access to the benefits.

The Head of Service, Chief Segun Odusanya, announces the approvals, linking them to changes in economic conditions. Sources say the loan ceilings for the schemes were last reviewed in 2013 and have since lost purchasing power due to inflation, higher construction costs, and increased vehicle prices. They also report that the governor reviews other welfare components, including an upward adjustment to the Duty Tour Allowance (DTA) for officers on official assignments within and outside the state, and outside the country.

Across the reports, the common focus is that the measures are intended to restore the practical usefulness of the housing and car loans and to better align state benefits with current costs faced by workers.
