A 33-year-old IT professional in Pune dies by suicide, according to police reports. Her death follows allegations—contained in a suicide note, as described by multiple outlets—that she faced sustained pressure from her in-laws over money and property-related demands.

Times of India and NDTV report that the note alleges the in-laws demanded she give up her salary and arrange asset transfers. NDTV specifically cites claims that she was pressured to hand over her entire salary, transfer her parental home’s flat to her mother-in-law, and purchase a flat worth about Rs 1 crore for her father-in-law. India Today similarly reports allegations about demands involving her salary and transfer of a flat.

In the aftermath, police register cases and book members of her family. Times of India says the husband is among five people booked for aiding the suicide, and it also includes an additional claim that the husband had asked her for divorce so he could remarry, alongside broader harassment allegations.
