Czech defence company CSG has bought a 9.5% stake in Canadian satellite and space manufacturer MDA Space Ltd. Bloomberg and other outlets report the investment is valued at about US$434 million, making CSG MDA Space’s largest shareholder.

BNN Bloomberg describes the stake as CSG’s biggest move into the space industry. Globe and Mail and Financial Post add that CSG’s leadership views the holding as opening opportunities for co-investment, including potential manufacturing or assembly facilities in Europe and possible strategic transactions alongside MDA. Seeking Alpha similarly frames the deal around CSG becoming the largest shareholder after the purchase.
