The International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) announces its main competition selections for its 39th edition, running Nov. 12 to 22. The festival opens with the world premiere of “White Tiger Column,” directed by Robert Mentov, Dwight Jantzi and Bryan Dickie. The film follows a group of recruits through 45 days of training with Myanmar’s resistance movement.

Organizers say 253 documentary titles from 80 countries are set to screen, with multiple strands including the International and Envision competitions. Newly revealed programming also includes “Musk,” and the documentary “You Can See Everything,” which centers on Elizabeth Holmes. Across outlets, the emphasis is on the breadth of the lineup and the festival’s mix of international conflict coverage with documentary profiles of prominent tech and business figures.
