Hyundai Motor Group says it will invest $15.5 billion in India through 2032 as it expands manufacturing, research and development, and future mobility plans. The group frames India as a strategic market for long-term growth and positions the investment as part of a wider effort to scale capacity and capabilities over the coming years.

Outlets report that the plan includes about $700 million for Hyundai’s Indian research and development centre, along with expansion of production capacity and the creation of a dedicated investment entity. One report also notes that the group’s investment themes cover future technologies and mobility in addition to autos production.

Other coverage connects the announcement to India’s broader role in the global auto supply chain. The country is already drawing large investments from multiple automakers aiming to meet rising demand and strengthen local manufacturing and exports. Hyundai’s prior India commitment—reported as $5 billion—also features in the coverage, alongside investments planned by other companies such as Maruti Suzuki’s majority owner, Suzuki Motor, and automaker plans by Toyota and Honda. A separate outlet states the same effort corresponds to about ₹1.47 lakh crore through 2032, including an earlier ₹45,000 crore pledge through 2030.
