YouTube’s “Ask YouTube” contextual AI search is rolling out to all users on Android and iOS in the United States, making it available through the mobile apps rather than only as a YouTube Premium feature.

The rollout follows YouTube’s earlier introduction of the tool and adds conversational querying and refinement through follow-up questions. According to outlets, the feature also exists across multiple platforms, including web and connected TVs, as YouTube positions it as an interface for searching and exploring content.

While both reports focus on the mobile release in the US, they also highlight the broader roadmap. NDTV says support for additional formats—such as YouTube Shorts and live streams—is expected to arrive later. 9to5Google similarly frames the change as an expansion beyond the previous Premium limitation, with the mobile availability now broader for US users.
