The International Monetary Fund (IMF) estimates Kenya’s 2026 economy has grown to around US$151 billion. One report cites IMF figures showing GDP increases from about US$147.26 billion in April 2026 to US$151.15 billion in October 2026, a gain of roughly US$3.89 billion (about Ksh 504 billion) over six months.
Both outlets frame the update in terms of Kenya’s position in regional and continental rankings. Kenya is described as maintaining its lead in Eastern Africa, with Ethiopia estimated at around US$127.15 billion. Another report notes that despite the rise, Kenya remains in the middle of Africa’s largest economies—still seventh on the continent—and is several billion dollars behind Angola (by about US$6 billion, per that account).
