Palin had been scheduled to visit venues across the UK this month and in the coming months to promote his new travel book, titled *Michael Palin – In the Philippines*. The Daily Mail adds that the incident occurred in a bathroom, described as a “comedy fall” that had no audience, while other coverage focuses more generally on the accident and the resulting need for recovery. Palin issues a statement indicating he will be out of action for several months, with his tour and related appearances postponed.
