Multiple Indian airlines cancel flights to and from Saudi Arabian cities, including Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah, until October 17. Air India also says it is monitoring developments in the region and assessing conditions to resume safe operations.

Across reports, the suspension is linked to aviation disruptions following an attack at Riyadh airport on October 10, which killed an Indian national, Mohammed Yousef Ali, and injured 11 others. While operations at Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport are suspended, flights at other Saudi airports such as Dammam, Jeddah and Medina continue but are affected by schedule changes. Other carriers, including Emirates, Etihad Airways, Flydubai, Qatar Airways and Gulf Air, also cancel or suspend some services to Riyadh and related routes for varying periods.

The Indian Embassy in Riyadh advises passengers to check flight status with airlines and notes that Saudi authorities allow certain overstayers, including visitors, tourists, Umrah pilgrims and business travellers, to leave without paying fines if flights were unavailable. The embassy and its Jeddah consulate report normal operations and have set up a 24-hour control room to assist affected Indians.
