The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) suspends the licences of 17 food establishments in Mumbai after inspections find hygiene and food-safety violations. Multiple outlets face suspension with immediate effect, while the FDA also identifies continued non-compliance at some premises that had previously received improvement notices.

Across reports, the cited deficiencies include pest infestations such as rats and cockroaches, unsafe or improper food storage, and failures in mandatory record-keeping. Investigators also flag issues including missing or improperly displayed FSSAI licences, absent purchase bills and pest-control records, and insufficient temperature and date records for refrigerators. Some outlets are additionally alleged to have unhygienic premises, open dustbins, and inadequate worker protective equipment.

The action includes three Domino’s Pizza outlets operated by Jubilant Foodworks Ltd., as well as other named establishments such as Carnival by Trèsind, Trupti Farsan and several eateries and stores in areas including Parel, Marol, Borivali West, Santacruz West and Andheri. One outlet’s registration is also suspended, and the FDA notes separate festive-season enforcement penalties in the same period.
