The US Treasury renews and extends some sanctions authorisations affecting Russia’s Lukoil, allowing limited activity involving certain overseas assets. The authorisations cover Lukoil’s foreign petrol stations and four subsidiaries in Bulgaria, including transactions that keep some Lukoil-branded outlets operating.
The licences also include restrictions: they permit specific business operations to continue but do not allow transfers of funds to Russia. Multiple outlets report that the exemptions are time-limited, with one authorisation extended until 2027 and another covering particular transactions involving the Bulgaria entities through April 24, 2027. While coverage focuses on the continuation of customer-facing operations abroad, the US conditions the waivers to prevent money moving back to Russia.
