Hot Chip announce their new album, *A Long Way From Kansas*, and release the lead single “Random Violence.” Multiple outlets report the track as a central preview of the 11-track record.
The sources describe “Random Violence” as carrying personal or scene-related significance. One outlet characterizes the song as a tribute to the late JD Twitch, while another focuses on the album’s overall lineup and guest contributions. A separate report adds that the album features guest appearances, including Beth Ditto and Eddie Chacon, and states the release date as January 8. Across coverage, outlets align on the album title, the lead single release, the album length, and the inclusion of the announced collaborators, while differing mainly in how prominently they emphasize the single’s meaning versus the album’s featured cast and logistics.
