Early results from Armenia’s parliamentary election show the ruling Civil Contract party in first place, with about 57% of the vote in partial returns, according to electoral commission data broadcast on public TV. The reported figures are drawn from a small share of polling stations, with one set of early results based on roughly 5% of stations and another based on about 16%. In both accounts, the pro-Russian Strong Armenia alliance places second, receiving about 21–22% of the vote. A third political bloc, the Armenia Alliance led by former President Robert Kocharyan, is also reported to be in third place, at around 8% in the earlier batch of results.
