In parallel, Indian Railways reports progress in recruitment for the financial year 2025-26. The railways state that 43,781 candidates are recruited against 47,084 vacancies notified across multiple categories. The largest recruitment is for Assistant Loco Pilots (ALPs), followed by Technicians, Junior Engineers, and Railway Protection Force (RPF) roles. Reported empanelment figures include ALP (17,193 for 18,799 vacancies notified), Technicians (13,416 for 14,298), and JE/DMS/CMA (7,333 for 7,951). RRB examinations are conducted across multiple cities and centres, with tests held in stages and shifts, including in 15 languages, to support applicants on a large scale.
