Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath condemns derogatory and defamatory social media comments aimed at Akhilesh Yadav’s daughter, saying such remarks against any daughter are unacceptable. Speaking during the inauguration and foundation-laying of development projects worth over Rs 955 crore in Azamgarh, Adityanath says he ordered action as soon as the matter came to his notice, directing police to register a case. He frames his remarks around the principle that “a daughter is a daughter,” adding that daughters and sisters in villages should be treated without distinction.
According to reporting on the incident, police register an FIR against three individuals accused of sharing allegedly fake, defamatory and malicious content online. The case is lodged at the cyber cell of the Kanpur Police Commissionerate after complaints by Samajwadi Party leaders. The complaint alleges a photograph of Akhilesh Yadav’s daughter was circulated on X with false claims, including allegations that the image was morphed.
Adityanath also advises Akhilesh Yadav to ensure his party workers and supporters use restrained language in public discourse.
