Korea’s tourism agency says it will launch a month-long discount program for foreign visitors using express and intercity buses to travel to regional destinations outside the Seoul metropolitan area. The Korea Tourism Organization will provide a 5,000 won (about $3.3) discount per person to up to 8,000 foreign tourists who take express or intercity buses to regional locations, starting Monday. The initiative is designed to make regional transport more accessible and to reduce the concentration of foreign tourists in and around Seoul, officials say. The program is carried out through partnerships with travel platforms Klook and Go Hanpass. Go Hanpass is set to provide additional discount coupons to bus users, while Klook will offer free eSIM services to improve traveler convenience. The agency says it will continue public-private partnership promotions to help inbound visitors experience attractions across regional areas by using local transport networks such as buses and railways.
