RCMP report that a 43-year-old man from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, is arrested after a stolen boat and trailer valued at about $300,000 are recovered in New Brunswick. Police say the case stems from information provided by the Cape Breton Regional Police Service to the New Brunswick RCMP Provincial Crime Reduction Unit (PCRU) in 2025 about stolen property in Shediac, N.B. On June 10, multiple RCMP units, including the PCRU, the Southeast Crime Reduction Unit, the Shediac Detachment and the Tactical Traffic Enforcement Unit, carry out a coordinated tactical traffic stop on Pointe-Du-Chêne Road in Shediac and Pointe-Du-Chêne Road. During the stop, the man is safely arrested. RCMP say the stolen boat and trailer are recovered at the scene. Police do not publicly release the man’s name. He is later released and scheduled to appear in Moncton Provincial Court on Sept. 3.
