The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) reports that Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) collection in Ekiti State is completed ahead of the June 20, 2026 governorship election. INEC says 1,028,929 PVCs have been collected out of 1,059,360 registered voters, representing about 97.1% turnout. The commission’s update also indicates that the number of registered voters in Ekiti increased from 987,647 in 2023 to 1,059,360 in 2026, following the suspension of the continuous voter registration exercise on May 15 and a clean-up of the voters’ register. PVC collection, originally scheduled to end on June 11, was extended to June 14 after consultations with stakeholders in Ado-Ekiti. INEC adds that it received 14,406 applications for replacement PVCs for lost, damaged or defaced cards within the stipulated period, and that all replacement cards were printed and made available for collection, with most already collected. INEC further notes that voters can cast ballots using their PVCs and urges peaceful participation on Election Day. It also states that a detailed breakdown by local government area was published on its platforms.
