ReelShort, a microdrama platform designed for mobile viewing, partners with the Philippines’ telecommunications company Globe as part of the platform’s Southeast Asia expansion. The partnership is announced at APOS and is described by both outlets as a strategic effort to bring ReelShort’s short-drama content to Filipino consumers. Under the deal, Globe is expected to provide access to ReelShort’s “premium library” of mobile-first dramas through its services.
The announcement follows ReelShort’s recent similar expansion move in the region. Variety and The Hollywood Reporter both note that the Globe agreement comes roughly two months after ReelShort formed its first major Southeast Asia partnership with Thailand’s AIS.
Variety also adds context about the company’s broader plans. While ReelShort’s current offering focuses on microdramas, founder and CEO Joey Jia says the company aims to build a wider entertainment ecosystem that goes beyond short dramas, even as it continues expanding geographically through new telco collaborations.
