The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an advisory for candidates appearing in the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination on June 21. The agency asks candidates to review the instructions before reaching their examination centres, saying that failing to follow the dress code and security norms can lead to denial of entry. The guidelines are part of enhanced security arrangements for the test. Candidates are allowed to carry transparent water bottles into the examination hall, with transparent plastic pouches permitted to keep admit cards safe from rain and accidental damage during travel. The advisory also states that religious attire and articles of faith—such as religious symbols, kalawas, turbans, hijabs and similar items—are permitted, but candidates are advised to report early to allow time for detailed frisking. Clothing guidance includes permitting full-sleeve or woollen garments where needed, with early reporting again recommended for thorough checks. For footwear, slippers and low-heeled shoes are preferred, while high-heeled footwear may require additional screening. NTA reiterates that electronic devices are prohibited inside the hall, including mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, and earphones/headphones, among other communication devices.
