The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) says 24 ships are currently discharging petroleum products and other commodities at ports in Lagos State. According to the NPA, the vessels are operating at major terminals including Apapa, Lekki Deep Sea and Tin-Can Island. The authority lists a range of cargo types being offloaded, including bulk petroleum products such as petrol, bulk gas and diesel. Alongside petroleum-related cargo, the NPA reports that other consignments are also being discharged, including bulk wheat, bulk salt, general cargo, fresh fish, containers, and bulk sugar. The NPA’s disclosure indicates that the ongoing vessel activity involves multiple categories of imports handled across the different Lagos ports. The reports focus on the number of ships and the types of goods being unloaded, without providing additional operational details such as volumes, specific vessel names, or completion timelines.
