APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda attributes the party’s recent electoral successes to voters rewarding performance. He links Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s re-election in Ekiti State and APC’s results in bye-elections nationwide to what he describes as effective governance and visible development. In a statement issued through his adviser, Abimbola Tooki, Yilwatda says the scale of APC’s victory in Ekiti represents an endorsement of leadership, prudent management of resources, and tangible improvements in the state. He also argues that Nigerians differentiate between short-term economic pressures associated with reforms and longer-term benefits of responsible governance.

Yilwatda further says APC won five of the six bye-elections held across the country, strengthening the party’s political position. He presents Ekiti under Oyebanji as an example of people-centred administration, pointing to areas including road infrastructure, rural development, healthcare, education, agriculture, workers’ welfare, and improvements to the business environment. He also connects the outcomes to President Bola Tinubu’s reform agenda, describing the results as confirming governance and results, rather than publicity, as a basis for political legitimacy.
