Former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose says his side will deliver a “political lesson” to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde ahead of the 2027 elections. Fayose makes the comments in an interview on Channels Television, and frames his remarks around allegations that Makinde undermined the South West chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and took control of Fayose’s political structure. He says politics should be conducted fairly, and warns that disrespect will bring consequences. Fayose also accuses Makinde of “stealing the land of the deities,” adding that deities, in his view, will eventually “retrieve” what was taken. In addition, he criticizes Makinde’s presidential declaration, saying it represents a betrayal of trust and a major misstep. Fayose stresses that Makinde has a right to seek higher office but argues that abandoning political alliances will not be ignored. He reiterates that elections are approaching and that his response will come before and during the electoral period.
