Amazon is testing Alexa+, its generative AI conversational assistant, in India with Hindi-language support. Multiple outlets report that Amazon reaches out to a limited group of users via email to invite them to participate in a beta-testing programme for a Hindi version of Alexa+. TechCrunch reports seeing the invitations, which ask recipients to complete a form. One report says users must fill out the form in Hindi by June 22 to be considered for the beta. Customers who enroll are expected to be notified when the testing experience is ready for them in Hindi. The move represents Amazon’s first push to bring Alexa+ to a non-Western-language market, according to the reporting described by The Next Web. Separately, GSMArena notes that Alexa+ became broadly available in the United States earlier in 2025 (February) and that Amazon is now expanding availability to India in Hindi. As with any beta release, the programme is expected to include bugs or unfinished functionality as testing proceeds.
