FCT Minister Nyesom Wike says development work in Abuja will continue regardless of political activity. Speaking on Tuesday at the Day 10 of commissioning projects across the Federal Capital Territory to mark President Bola Tinubu’s third anniversary, Wike addressed concerns that projects might stop as politics intensifies ahead of the 2027 election. He said the FCT Administration remains committed to executing directives from Tinubu, and that “politics or no politics” projects will proceed to change Abuja’s landscape.

Wike also expressed confidence that major infrastructure transformation will be completed before Tinubu’s first term ends on May 29, 2027, and before the president is sworn in for a second term. The event involved the flag-off of construction of service carriageways on the Southern Parkway, running from Arterial Road S20 (Oladipo Diya Way) to Ring Road II.

Tinubu was represented at the flag-off ceremony by the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda.
