President Bola Tinubu and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike highlight an ongoing infrastructure push in Abuja, saying residents are increasingly seeing results from government projects. Tinubu praises Wike’s performance and says all FCT districts are now “feeling the impact of governance,” pointing to completed works that improve daily life and connectivity. Wike, in turn, credits the administration’s efforts for changing Abuja’s landscape, including commissioning and flagging off multiple road projects across the territory.
At events marking Tinubu’s third year in office, officials describe rapid project delivery, including an inauguration of 31 projects in a period of weeks. Tinubu also frames the work as consistent with his broader “renewed hope” vision, while Wike emphasizes that development will continue regardless of political activity approaching the 2027 election. Wike states that when he took office in August 2023 he found a demoralised civil service and says reforms such as the FCT Civil Service Commission and removing the FCT from the Treasury Single Account improved motivation and enabled funding through commercial banks.
Both sides describe the infrastructure drive as unprecedented and as helping address previously abandoned projects.
