Lagos State police report intercepting a truck carrying military camouflage uniforms and suspected illicit drugs on an exit route from Lagos. The Lagos police commissioner, Tijani Fatai, says operatives stopped the vehicle at the Lekki-Epe corridor while it was heading out of Lagos, finding 47 sacks of military camouflage and 80 cartons of drugs. Police say the truck was allegedly being used to move the military uniforms to Nigeria’s south-east, and they have started investigations to determine the source of the items and the intended recipients.

Multiple outlets report that police arrested suspects after the interception, with figures varying by outlet: some reports cite three suspects, while another cites four. The Daily Post and others also describe the truck as an unregistered MAN diesel truck. Separately, the police commissioner says foreign nationals were rescued from a possible mob action in Epe, listing nationals from several countries in West and other regions. Police state that the matter has been referred to relevant authorities, including embassies and the Nigeria Immigration Service.
