Mandaluyong City confirms it is handling a locally confirmed mpox case, with health officials launching public health actions to reduce the risk of transmission. The city’s Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (Cesu) reports it is managing the case in coordination with the Mandaluyong City Health Office, the Department of Health regional epidemiology and health statistics units, and other relevant agencies.
Following the confirmation on June 29, local health authorities begin case investigation and initiate contact tracing. Alongside tracing, they conduct risk assessment and arrange monitoring for identified close contacts, following established public health protocols. Authorities also conduct disease surveillance activities as part of the response.
Multiple outlets report that the city government issues an advisory about the confirmed mpox case and that related measures—case management, investigation, and surveillance—are already underway.
