Delhi finalises a new electric vehicle (EV) policy aimed at accelerating the adoption of zero-emission vehicles over the next four years. The plan includes direct purchase-linked incentives for multiple vehicle categories, starting from the first year and stepping down over time. For electric two-wheelers, buyers receive subsidies of ₹30,000 in the first year, ₹20,000 in the second year and ₹10,000 in the third year, according to reporting that outlines year-wise amounts. For electric three-wheelers, incentives are higher in each of the first three years, at ₹50,000 in the first year, ₹40,000 in the second year and ₹30,000 in the third year. The policy also provides support for electric four-wheelers, with NDTV reporting subsidies of up to ₹1 lakh for cars. Times of India additionally characterises the programme as a large investment effort and mentions a tax-related element described as tax-free electric cars, alongside incentives. The overall focus across sources is on scaling EV adoption through financial measures across two-wheeler, three-wheeler and four-wheeler segments.
