More than a year after the religious group endorsed Marcoleta for the 2025 senatorial elections, thousands of INC members gather near the EDSA People Power Monument in Quezon City on Tuesday, according to the Quezon City Police District. The INC releases an official statement backing Marcoleta hours before the gathering and says its support aligns with its positions on transparency, accountability, justice, and peace.
INC spokesperson Bro. Edwil Zabala also rejects allegations of “selective justice” and what he describes as the “distortion of law,” while speaking in Filipino during a Net 25 livestream. Reports note that Zabala does not explicitly confirm whether the EDSA rally is specifically in support of Marcoleta, though the timing and the group’s statements indicate continued backing. The police estimate participation at about 10,000 people along White Plains Avenue and near EDSA.
