A large tree collapses near Wagle Police Station in Thane, injuring a 52-year-old pedestrian and damaging 11 vehicles that were parked along the roadside. The incident occurs in Wagle Estate near Road Number 31, close to Prashant Corner, where the tree falls without warning. The alert is reported to have been received at 8:49 AM. The injured man, identified as Pawan Jha, sustains critical head and chest injuries and is taken to Pragati Hospital in Wagle Estate for treatment.

Officials from the Thane Municipal Corporation’s Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) and local responders coordinate on-site operations. Personnel from the Wagle Police, the TMC Tree Authority, the RDMC, and the Fire Brigade reach the location with rescue equipment and fire tenders. Crews use power saws to cut branches and clear debris to restore traffic on the busy industrial road.

The fallen tree damages a row of vehicles, including a Thane Rural Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) police bus and other parked cars, a tempo, an auto-rickshaw, and multiple two-wheelers. Authorities initiate checks of nearby trees ahead of the monsoon season.
